What is Boulder Commons? An exciting new commercial real estate project coming to life in Boulder Junction that promises to completely redefine what it means to align community and commercial spaces. To pleasantly blur the lines between work and the rest of your life. And, to deliver unsurpassed sustainability and thoughtful amenities without compromising either.

Boulder Commons consists of two commercial buildings totaling roughly 100,000 square feet. The new development will offer professional office space, a restaurant, a coffee shop and “flex” space that functions as community gathering space.

The world renowned Rocky Mountain Institute will be an anchor tenant.

Chris Bentley:

My name is Chris Bentley. I’m the commercial ‘Solar Rainmaker’ at IPS.

As a serial entrepreneur, I have started or jumpstart a dozen various companies.

And as a long time eco-dude, I’ve always wanted to be in the solar industry.

So why did I wait until a couple years ago to dive in? Because finally the ‘business case’ for solar is undeniable and every building should have it. Period.

The price of panels are at an all-time low. Sadly, the tax credits and other incentives are phasing out. So the time is NOW to ‘Turn Sunshine Into Profits’.

Because I’m passionate about expanding renewable energy as ‘far and wide and fast’ as possible, I joined Independent Power Systems: the most experienced, bleeding edge solar, battery, efficiency and controls company in the universe.

A quick snapshot of me: After getting my MBA and traveling around the world for two years, I moved to Aspen to be at the epicenter of the environmental movement. I parlayed that into some really fun companies while raising a beautiful daughter in the mountains above Aspen. Our love of nature, horses, snowboarding and international travel just keeps growing.

Both of us are at the University of Colorado. She’s studying to be an eco-writer and I am on the Board of the Business School. I lecture MBA classes on Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, Ethics and Green Jobs. My favorite activity is mentoring MBA students and helping them launch businesses of their own.

As you can probably tell, I want my teenage daughter to be proud that her Papa did everything he possibly could to make this a better planet for her and future generations.
