BPI ( Building Performance Institute) is an organization that writes technical standard for home performance and weatherization. From these standards they have developed courses and certifications for home performance contracting.

AEE certification programs are recognized by the US Department of Energy, US Agency for International Development, State Department, Fortune 1000 companies, utilities, energy service companies, and countless others. AEE is a professional organization for energy engineering and energy management, renewable and alternative energy, power generation, energy services, and sustainability. In addition to information and training, they have developed 19+ certifications. While most of these are not applicable to energy
audits, several do apply. In fact, their certifications are the gold standard when it comes to commercial or industrial audits.

The Sustainable Practices Program, which started with the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Studies, is now part of the CU Environmental Center. The program's mission is to offer individual classes and professional certificate programs for people who are interested in sustainability. Interdisciplinary courses in our program address the confluence of both economic and ecological health, as well as social equity and justice.


The Green Building Certificate Program as part of the Institute for the build Environment. provides comprehensive and practical knowledge for sustainable building design within the context of LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), the nationwide rating system of the U.S. Green Building Council. Each week the course is taught by different industry experts who share their cutting-edge knowledge about topics ranging from sustainable sites to building commissioning.

Green Advantage® is a national certification program for green building practitioners. It is the only certification for green builders and remodelers that is both national and unaffiliated with a trade association. Established with grant funding from the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Nature Conservancy, Green Advantage was developed in collaboration with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and the University of Florida.

The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is the "gold standard” for PV and solar thermal installation certification. Designed to raise industry standards and promote consumer confidence, NABCEP offers certification and certificate programs to renewable energy professionals throughout North America.

RESNET EnergySmart Contractors and Builders have the knowledge and training to complete energy efficient retrofits and building projects in a safe and efficient manner. Energy Raters and Auditors are professionals trained and certified in energy efficiency, combustion safety and building analysis.
